How we do it
We combine ecological science, advanced mapping, and local partnerships to achieve large-scale restoration. Scaling restoration is crucial for the planet, and re.green is uniquely positioned to get there.
Bioflora
Bioflora is one of the main tree nurseries for native seedlings in Brazil.
Founded in 1998 by a team that is now part of re.green, the nursery aims to contribute to the development of forest restoration with high quality standard products and services.
In 2021, re.green acquired Bioflora, and it became an essential part of our business. Headquartered in Piracicaba, in the state of São Paulo, Bioflora is a benchmark for seeds and seedlings training and science. It is our model nursery for research, suppliers, partners and our entire team!
Currently, it has a capacity of 2 million seedlings/year with potential for expansion to up to 10 million seedlings/year.

Seeds
re.green’s restoration is done exclusively with native species, many of which are regional. In order to restore all ecosystem processes and recover a resilient forest, it is essential that the chosen plants are a natural part of the region’s biome.
Bioflora has already produced more than a thousand types of Brazilian seeds that are part of our biodiversity species. Meet some of them:
- Cariniana legalis – Pink Jequitibá
- Dalbergia nigra – Jacarandá from Bahia
- Handroanthus impetiginosus -purple Ipê
- Hymenaea courbaril – Jatoba
- Paubrasilia echinata – Pau Brasil

Our projects
We’re restoring thousands of hectares in biodiversity hotspots in the Atlantic Forest, while partnering with local communities.
347 hectares planted
711 hectares of land
5 local partner communities
The region has suffered decades of environmental degradation with use destined to low productivity pastures. However, we are committed to changing this reality. Over the next 50 years, we will restore and preserve the site, transforming it into a Conservation Unit and ensuring the perpetuity of nature. In addition, we are working in partnership with local communities that help us with seeds and seedlings.

1.300 hectares for planting
2.100 hectares of land
5 local partner communities
We continue to expand our operations in the Atlantic Forest in southern Bahia, this time with Fazenda Belo Horizonte, known by locals as Fazenda Guarani.
