Agriculture and restoration on the same territory – a new logic of profitability for the countryside.
Intro
The partnership with Agro Penido, one of Brazil’s largest agricultural groups, was re.green’s first rural partnership and demonstrates how low-productivity areas within an agricultural property can become a new long-term source of income. On the Pioneira and Darro farms, in Querência (MT), re.green is restoring 600 hectares of marginal areas — between the cropland and the Permanent Preservation Area — that had been unused for more than 11 years.
Rural partnership — the owner keeps the land, re.green carries out all the restoration, and both share the revenue from the carbon credits.
