Aline Pontes

Aline is a Senior Research & Development Specialist at re.green, where she coordinates applied research projects in the Amazon and Atlantic Forest biomes, leading multidisciplinary teams in the areas of field experimentation, forest inventory, native timber silviculture, biomass quantification, and spatial modeling—always at the intersection of scientific rigor and practical decision-making. A Forest Engineer with a master’s degree in Tropical Forest Sciences (INPA) and a Ph.D. and postdoctoral degree in Remote Sensing (INPE), she has over 12 years of research experience in the Amazon. She has published more than 25 articles in international journals—covering topics such as plant cloning, forest structure and dynamics, biomass quantification using LiDAR and orbital sensors, modeling the impact of forest fires, and ecosystem services provided by secondary forests. His interdisciplinary experience and career path have led to leadership in research, mentoring of junior researchers, and strategic vision, contributing to the transformation of scientific knowledge into solutions for ecological restoration at scale.
