Thaiane Sousa is a Senior Specialist in Restoration Monitoring at re.green, where she coordinates ecosystem service monitoring programs — covering fauna, flora, and water resources — in the Amazon and Atlantic Forest biomes. She works to integrate field monitoring, remote sensing, and data analysis to assess restoration progress, generate scientific evidence, and support the company’s strategic and operational decision-making. She has a degree in Forest Engineering, a master’s degree in Tropical Forest Sciences, and a Ph.D. in Ecology from the National Institute for Amazonian Research (INPA). Throughout her career, she has conducted research focused on forest ecology, biodiversity monitoring, tropical forest dynamics, and ecosystem services, with experience in field projects in the Amazon. At re.green, she leads initiatives focused on developing monitoring protocols, integrating different data sources, and generating indicators that support the measurement of the ecological impacts of large-scale restoration.
